About

The @karatefokus project was born under this name in April 2023, but the passion and practice of photographing sports karate began in 2017, when we started following our children in this fascinating sport — photographing their team and some tournaments organized by the club.

In 2023, we realized that in Portugal there was a need for someone to carry out this type of work professionally. With the purchase of professional equipment that allowed us to deliver high-quality work, we decided to launch the Instagram page @karatefokus. Fortunately, it was immediately well received by the karate community — first at the national level, quickly reaching around 400 followers, and a few months later, we began gaining followers from all over the world, especially across Europe. Today, we have about 19,500 followers from Portugal, Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Brazil, Indonesia, Turkey, and more.

Our goal is to be present at competitions organized by FNK-P at the national level and by the WKF (World Karate Federation) internationally: K1 Youth League, K1 Series A, K1 Premier League, EKF European Championships, and WKF World Championships.

The process of acquiring better photo and video equipment never ends, as we strive to meet the expectations of those who trust our work.
The team has grown, and in addition to the two photographers present at events, we now have two more valuable members who support us with video editing.
We use two latest-generation professional Nikon mirrorless cameras, ensuring that the photos and videos we produce are of the highest quality.

A big thank you to everyone who trusts our work.
